KwikPort is a TradeTech platform that gives individuals and businesses access to verified commercial contracts for real goods, in Nigeria and abroad, through Trade Tickets, independent service providers and a Personal Trade Officer.
KwikPort at a Glance
What it is
A TradeTech platform operated by KwikPort Africa Limited, a Nigerian company.
What you trade
Real commercial contracts for physical goods, including agricultural commodities, minerals, industrial materials and other eligible products, with local and international buyers.
What it isn't
Not a forex, cryptocurrency or stock trading platform, not a savings product, and not an investment scheme.
How you take part
You choose a contract and the quantity you want. A Trade Ticket is generated for your allocation, showing its commodity cost, terms and expected earnings.
Money
Everything is in Naira. You fund your Naira Wallet, authorise the commodity cost from it to activate your trade, and pay service providers from the same wallet as each stage arises. International contracts priced in US dollars have their exchange rate stated and locked in the agreement.
Who does the work
Independent, approved service providers carry out sourcing, inspection, processing, packaging, logistics and documentation. KwikPort coordinates and supervises.
Who looks after you
A Personal Trade Officer is assigned to your trade as your designated point of contact.
Protection
Every trade is backed by three layers: service providers who answer for their work, KwikPort's own safeguard for events outside anyone's control, and insurance where the contract requires it. Insurance is separate from KwikPort's own commitments.
Getting paid
When a trade is completed and the buyer has paid, settlement is credited directly to your Naira Wallet. You can withdraw eligible funds to a Nigerian bank account.
Who can join
Anyone aged 18 or older, including Nigerians and Africans in the diaspora. Withdrawals are made to a Nigerian bank account. Basic KYC information is collected at onboarding, and further verification may be required.
Service providers
Individuals and businesses can apply on the website. Applications are reviewed and approved by KwikPort.
Bring your own contract
You can submit a genuine buyer contract for evaluation through the KwikPort app. Submitting does not guarantee acceptance.
What is KwikPort?
KwikPort is a TradeTech platform that connects individuals and businesses to verified commercial contracts involving physical commodities and goods.
Through one platform, you can access trading opportunities, participate in local and international commerce, engage independent service providers and manage your transactions from contract activation through execution and settlement.
Is KwikPort a Forex, Cryptocurrency or Financial Trading Platform?
No. KwikPort facilitates physical commerce, not speculative financial trading.
Unlike forex, cryptocurrency or stock trading platforms, KwikPort deals with actual goods supplied to buyers under commercial contracts.
Transactions involve real products, commercial demand, procurement, logistics, delivery and buyer payments.
Is KwikPort an Investment Platform?
No. You are not handing money to a pool and waiting for a return. You take a share of a real commercial contract, choose who carries out the work and follow it to settlement.
Do I Need Trading Experience or an Established Business to Use KwikPort?
No. You don't need previous trading experience, an established trading company or an existing network of suppliers.
KwikPort provides access to verified buyer contracts and a structured ecosystem of independent service providers who undertake the activities required to execute them.
You participate as a trader, with access to the commercial information, services and transaction visibility needed to manage your trade.
Can I Join From Outside Nigeria?
Yes. Nigerians and Africans in the diaspora can join. Because settlement is withdrawn to a Nigerian bank account, you will need one to take your money out whenever you choose.
What Types of Commercial Contracts Are Available?
KwikPort facilitates local and international commercial contracts involving agricultural commodities, minerals, industrial raw materials and other eligible physical goods.
Each opportunity has its own buyer requirements, commercial value, commodity specifications, execution timeline and participation conditions.
Available contracts can be explored through the KwikPort app.
What Is a Trade Ticket?
A Trade Ticket is a reference contract for the allocation you select from a larger commercial contract.
It works like an internal contract within the bigger one. When you enter the quantity you want to take part in, a Trade Ticket is generated for that allocation. For example, if you choose 100 tonnes from a larger contract, your Trade Ticket carries those 100 tonnes.
Each ticket displays the applicable commodity cost, buyer contract value, expected earnings, terms and execution requirements.
How Do I Participate in a Commercial Contract?
Download the KwikPort app, create and verify your account, and explore the available contracts.
You must be 18 or older. Basic KYC information is collected during onboarding, and further identity verification may be required.
Select a contract, review its commercial terms and enter the quantity you want to take part in. A Trade Ticket is generated for your allocation.
Fund your Naira Wallet, authorise the required commodity cost from it, then proceed through the trade's execution stages, selecting and engaging eligible independent service providers as required.
Who Does What on KwikPort?
Your part is to choose the contract you want to take part in, decide how much of it to take on, and select the independent service providers to carry out the work. Their part is to deliver what you hire them for. Ours is to list verified contracts, coordinate the trade and supervise the providers you select to make sure they deliver. Every stage is visible on the platform, so you can follow your trade yourself. It's like having a team of specialists for a single deal, without employing anyone permanently.
What Does One Trade Look Like?
- You open the Contracts section of the app and see everything available.
- Each contract is described and measured in its own units. A unit might mean 100 kg for one commodity and something else for a different contract.
- You enter how many units you want to take on and review what's involved before you commit.
- You generate your Trade Ticket and activate it.
- You select the service providers the contract needs and follow each stage on the platform while KwikPort supervises them.
- When the contract is complete, settlement is credited to your Naira Wallet.
Every contract is different, so the units, stages and timeline change from one to the next. You can also keep money in your Naira Wallet at any time, before you've chosen any contract.
How Do I Fund My Naira Wallet?
You fund your Naira Wallet from the KwikPort app. Your wallet must be funded before you can activate a trade.
Funds are held with KwikPort's payment and banking partners. The same wallet is used for any transaction you carry out on the platform, including paying service-provider fees.
Eligible funds can be withdrawn to a Nigerian bank account.
How Much Do I Need to Start?
There is no single starting amount. Every contract shows its commodity cost, service-provider charges and your expected earnings before you activate, so you decide with the full picture.
How Long Does a Trade Take?
It depends on the contract. Each contract shows its expected timeline before you activate.
What Happens After I Activate a Trade?
Your activated trade progresses through the execution stages specified in the contract.
Depending on the goods and buyer requirements, these may include procurement, quality verification, processing, packaging, storage, transportation, port handling, delivery and settlement.
You can follow the progress of each stage through the KwikPort app.
Who Handles Procurement, Logistics and Other Trade Activities?
Trade execution is carried out by independent service providers with relevant expertise and operational capabilities.
KwikPort makes verified service providers available for the different stages of your transaction. You can review eligible providers, compare their service terms and select those you want to engage.
Each provider is responsible for delivering the agreed service, while KwikPort coordinates and supervises the transaction.
Who Supervises My Trade?
KwikPort provides transaction coordination and oversight throughout the execution process.
You are also assigned a Personal Trade Officer who serves as your designated point of contact, assists with your trade and helps you follow its progress.
Your transaction updates remain accessible through the KwikPort app.
How Are Trading Earnings Calculated?
Trading earnings come from the commercial margin between the total cost of acquiring and delivering goods and the amount the buyer pays under the contract.
Before activating a trade, you can review the buyer contract value, commodity costs, expected service charges and expected net earnings.
As the transaction progresses, you select the required service providers and pay their fees from your Naira Wallet.
Your actual net earnings depend on the total expenses incurred and the final commercial outcome of your trade.
Does KwikPort Deduct Service Charges From My Trading Revenue?
No. You pay the relevant service-provider charges separately as you engage the services required for your trade.
When the buyer's payment is received, the revenue for the goods you supplied is credited directly to your Naira Wallet.
Service charges already paid during execution are not deducted again from that payment.
How Does KwikPort Make Money?
KwikPort earns through the contracts it lists, with a fee based on each contract's value, and through a fee on what service providers earn on the platform. Any charge that applies to you is shown before you activate.
What Is the Trade Wallet?
Your Trade Wallet displays the contractual value associated with your activated trades and provides visibility into their progress.
It helps you track your commercial allocations and the value expected under the relevant buyer contracts.
Displayed contractual values are not the same as funds available for immediate withdrawal. Funds become available following the applicable transaction settlement process.
When Can I Withdraw My Money?
Once your trade is completed and the buyer's payment has been received, settlement funds are credited directly to your Naira Wallet. You do not need to transfer them yourself, and you can withdraw eligible funds to a Nigerian bank account.
Withdrawals are instant, subject to account verification.
Is My Trade Covered by Insurance?
Insurance is included where required by the nature and terms of a commercial contract.
For such transactions, an eligible insurance service provider is made available, and you pay the applicable insurance premium as part of your trade execution expenses.
Insurance protects your goods against covered risks, including qualifying loss or damage, in accordance with the policy's terms, coverage limits and exclusions.
Insurance is separate from, and does not replace, KwikPort's trade-protection commitments, which apply to qualifying transactions in accordance with their applicable terms.
Are Commercial Transactions on KwikPort Risk-Free?
No. Physical commerce involves risks associated with procurement, product quality, transportation, execution and buyer settlement.
KwikPort addresses these risks through buyer and contract verification, service-provider assessment, transaction supervision and applicable protection arrangements.
The safeguards available for each transaction depend on its commercial structure and terms.
What If the Buyer Pays Late or Does Not Pay?
Where a contract calls for it, the buyer's payment is backed by a bank guarantee or a letter of credit. This depends on the contract, and each contract shows its payment terms before you activate.
What Happens If a Trade Is Cancelled or Does Not Go as Planned?
Once a trade has started on KwikPort, it is carried through to completion.
If a trade is cancelled or fails for a reason that is not caused by you, KwikPort's trade-protection arrangements, together with insurance where the contract requires it, are there to ensure you still have a successful trade.
Can I Become a Service Provider on KwikPort?
Yes. KwikPort welcomes qualified individuals, independent professionals, experienced traders, agencies, contractors and established businesses with capabilities relevant to commercial trade execution.
These include commodity sourcing, procurement, logistics, warehousing, processing, manufacturing, inspection, packaging, freight forwarding and other specialised services.
